In March of 2012 the juabar team received an IMPACT Social Entrepreneurship Award to implement the first two Juabar prototypes in the Summer 2012. We are designing juabar using participatory design methods in partnership with the Appropriate Rural Technology Institute in Dar es Salaam, TZ.
The first phase of prototyping was made possible with the generous support from California College of the Arts Center for Art and Public Life IMPACT: Social Entrepreneurship Awards Program.
